what's a jellybean?
lol... i take it you don't mean the sweets. lol
Na, I mean the latest android OS that I just got via "over the air" yesterday.
oh.
that explains it... know nothing about androids
Which is why I create these podcast for people to listen to because the known ones are out of date.
So to add to my podcast and to do a talkback update for this board. Here goes: talkback can now be disabled with out having the need to have a sighted person to enable it do to the very new released beta that just came out last night. Also, the web scripts bug that talkback to lag under certain web views has been finally squashed, I am very greatful for this. Also, a person can toggal speaking of typed letters when composing text. Theres more see the current post under the eyes-free list. Keep in mind talkback is still under beta and may have bugs included in this release.
One more thing, this podcast is getting an update do to the new gesters or features just added over night via the talkback beta. To those who have a android device update your talkback please so the web scrips bug can be squashed on your tablit or phone. :) Hope you have fun in android land, I sure do thanks to ICS and Jelly bean. Let me say this turning off the speach for talkback covers 2.2 and up for android.
Okay I know it takes a bit to get tpodcast on blind cool tech but I just up loaded 3 of them in regards to android. For now on my podcast will be uploaded at blind cool tech unless the web sight owner tells me other wise.
A zone member brought up to me that androidès updates to accessibility over at android access is soryly lacking in current information for a new user. So here goes the direct email from a google developer on the eyes free list for the latest talkback and the link to go down load and update your screen reader. Alan Viverette alanv@google.com
Hi everyone,
We have just released TalkBack v3.2.1 Beta 1 to the Eyes-Free Project downloads page. This version contains many updates for Jelly Bean devices as well as adding the Global Context Menu as an action that can be assigned to search button long-press on pre-Jelly Bean devices.
Please note, we have raised the minimum required version from Android 2.1 (Eclair) to Android 2.2 (Froyo). This version of TalkBack will not work on devices running Eclair.
As usual, this version may contain bugs. Please reply in this thread if you see any issues. If you need to return to a stable version, the most recent version compatible with all devices is TalkBack v3.1.3. For Jelly Bean devices, you can uninstall the update to return to the most recent version.

Excellent, thanks much.
where do I find the version of talkback info? I have which ever one came down with 4.2.
Why would they tell you otherwise? They accept podcasts on a zillion other and sometimes rather frivolous topics, so certainly one that demonstrates the OS used on more devices than any other is certainly valid! Best of luck, and I hope it results in more exposure / airplay and maybe a part time gig for you teaching the OS if you want it.
WillieTheWoof I included the link to the eyes-free app sight when I coppied the email from the eyes-free list`s posting from allon who is a developer at googles accessibility team. Leo hmm not sure how blind cool tech works but I would love to teach android to those who want to use it. Oh, I need to put here that talkback now has another update with a little more feedback for menus and fix an issue where the ring tone would go back down to a lower level when a user set their volume ringer on the android phone. Well hope these board`s help people who have or are in the process of trying android. If your not sure give a nexis7 a try. Google is slated to put out a $99 tablit running jelly bean later on before christmas. I red this on a tech sight but do not hold me to it.
